If you have started, or are thinking about starting, a business in the hair or beauty sector, this event is for you. Hear from founders who have taken that leap and are now at the top of their game. Delivered on behalf of Belfast City Council, this session will offer inspiration, practical advice, and real support for those ready to turn an idea into a business.

Linda Stinson, Founder of Iconic Bronze & Bellamianta
Linda Stinson is a pioneering beauty entrepreneur and founder of two award-winning brands, Iconic Bronze and Bellamianta. With a clear vision to create high-quality, innovative products, she built both businesses from the ground up, growing them into household names stocked by leading retailers across the UK and Ireland. Trusted by professional make-up artists and celebrities, her brands are rooted in a passion for helping people feel confident in their own skin. Linda’s journey is a powerful example of how creativity, resilience and self-belief can turn a local idea into a global success. She will share the key lessons, challenges and breakthroughs that shaped her path.

Claire-Louise Bloomfield, Co-Founder & Operations Director at MACC Hair
Claire-Louise Bloomfield’s journey is a strong example of determination and entrepreneurial drive. Leaving school early, she began her career at 16 through a Youth Training programme. While traditional education wasn’t the right fit, she quickly developed practical skills, confidence and a strong work ethic. Over the years, she built a deep understanding of customer service, operations and financial management, laying the foundation for her future success. She went on to co-found MACC Hair, now recognised as one of Belfast’s leading salon brands. As Co-Founder and Operations Director, Claire-Louise leads the day-to-day running of the business, managing and mentoring a team of 25 staff. Working alongside her business partner, Mark Nesbitt, who leads on the creative side, she ensures the operational excellence behind the brand’s continued growth. Passionate about people and continuous development, she is committed to empowering others and building a strong, supportive culture within the business.

Gearóid McAuley, Founder of R-Line Studios & R-Line Barbering Academy
Gearóid McAuley is the founder of R-Line Studios and R-Line Barbering Academy, and a young entrepreneur making a real impact in the industry. From Ardoyne in North Belfast, he began his journey at just 15, training in hairdressing through Workforce. Through hard work and determination, he progressed from apprentice to manager, and by 23 had built his own successful business. He is passionate about creating opportunities for young people and opening up pathways into the industry. Through R-Line Barbering Academy, he mentors and supports the next generation, particularly those who may need additional support to get started. He has also recently been to Westminster, advocating for greater funding and support for the sector.

Joining Gearóid is his colleague John McMullan, whose journey reflects the same dedication and drive. Having trained with Gearóid from an early age, John has gone on to cut hair at some of the UK’s biggest events, including the Great British Barber Bash. He is now preparing to become a part-owner in a new R-Line store opening soon.Together, they share an honest and inspiring story of hard work, growth and giving back, showing what’s possible when talent is supported and developed.
